Charleston SC Lifestyle Photographer, Laura Dolan
Hi!
My name is Laura Stribling Dolan. I married into the initials LSD. I like to think that I too am fun, chaotic, and potentially psychedelic. My hair is always changing, I consider it a part of my personality. But you'll never catch me with hair dye, I found out the hard way I'm allergic! I have been know to spritz some lemon juice here and there.
You may notice the first three pictures are my "signature" pose. I'm big on helping people find the right poses and right outfits to achieve the most flattering photos. I like to believe I know how to dress myself (at least for photos anyway) and I can help you too!
I've been a photographer for 14 years. (I started in 2008 in case I forget to update this yearly!)
I knew I wanted to do something that made a difference in people's lives. I loved photography but wasn't sure if it was something I could do as a career. I started working at a portrait studio in the mall, I knew if I wanted to get better at photography I would have to hold a camera everyday.
Photographing great-grandparents with their great-grandchildren is important to me. It is something they can't do for themselves.
I moved to Charleston in 2012 and quickly jumped in with both feet first. I send this list to everyone who books me as their photographer. Lots of people come to the beach on vacation and these are my personal recommendations.
I'm married to the love of my life and we have a tiny little baby we call Tater tot. (Thank you Marcelle for the beautiful newborn pictures!)
She's the happiest baby you've ever met. I did a full photoshoot with her every month for her first year. I'm still recovering.
I went crabbing with my husband on our first date. I love to tell people we caught crabs on our first date. I love it even more when someone else makes the joke before I can.
I decided on a destination wedding because planning a wedding isn't hard enough. You can read ever single detail here because that's what kind of person I am.
Then 10 days later I had a 2nd wedding ceremony with a donut reception at my grandmother's nursing home, because that's what kind of person I am.
That's it! Those are the most important parts of my life documented by my fellow photographers. I love it!
