Sarah and Garrett are married! It couldn't have been a more beautiful day for a Charleston wedding.
I'm blogging, editing, and tearing up knowing that I get to put together all my memories from my friend's wedding. It's such a blur, I know what it means to be able to go back and relive the day. I'm having fun remembering all the happy moments, and seeing Sarah sneak a peek of herself in the mirror and smile. It was such a positive and uplifting day. I think Sarah and Garrett have been caring for other people for so long that everyone was tripping over themselves to support and help them on their wedding day. The vibe was just constantly positive and loving, with a dash of "let's just have fun!"
Lots of favorite moments, but I love everyone last minute doing touch-ups in the mirror!
Sarah, the only thing that could make you look more like a princess is if a bird landed on your finger and started singing.
No, Sarah and Jennifer are the twins, not these two brothers.
I love love love watching Sarah's twin sister help her up the stairs, and I also love knowing that Jennifer's little JJ is in her belly helping with his aunt's wedding! She's 7.5 months pregnant here!? Can you believe it?
I couldn't help myself. We had to stop for a quick bridal portrait when I saw this window. Now on to "not see" Garrett before the ceremony!
While we were waiting for Sarah to come out and exchange letters with Garrett. We were discussing how Sarah is a Disney princess. Someone asked "Which one?" I said, "No, she's like her own Disney Princess... but also like Elsa after she became nice."
Another favorite moment is a "first look" with Dad. He loved you first!
Of all the beautiful pictures of Sarah today. This one is the most Sarah, "Here, let me help you."
The smooch before the scooch.
Look at how they look at each other!
One little snag, that I have confirmed from witnesses, was not Sarah's fault. Dear friend, Pastor Larry, accidentally told Sarah, "Repeat after me, I Garrett, take you Sarah..."
And she did exactly that. Church-wide laughter makes for great photos and memories. She handled it with grace.
This is it, this is my favorite part. The 5 minutes after the ceremony. The moment you look at each and say "We did it! We are married." And exhale.
There's just nothing prettier than Old Village in Mt Pleasant for family photos.
Garrett got a wife and a very good boy at his wedding. I'm so glad Sarah's golden retriever, Levi was able to join in the festivities for a few minutes. If you've met Levi, you know how magical this photo is. I think he's been practicing his posing skills.
I knew Pitt Street was important to Sarah because Garrett proposed there last year. We had great weather all day, but a fishing pier in the springtime turned into 25 mph winds right as we arrived for pictures. I looked at the timestamps, we were only there for 6 minutes before Sarah had enough of her dress and hair flying in her face. But oh how magical those 6 minutes were!
Dancing for Sarah is like breathing for most people. Necessary for life.
And they lived happily ever after...
Look...it's Sarah's day, but it's my blog. I snuck myself into the pictures 5 times. Did you find them?
